PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of this Continuing Professional Development Plan is to describe my specific
professional development goals for the next five years, starting from 1st July 2022 to 1st July 2027.

PART ONE - WHERE AM I NOW?

Current job title and employer details?
I work as a banking assistant to the Information Technology Department of the Regional Development
Bank (RDB) at Gampaha, Sri Lanka. I have been working at RDB for more than five years now.

Current job role?

I am responsible for investigating and correcting errors and issues in the computers and computer
systems of the bank. Also, I oversee the bank’s information technology needs, including supervising
subordinates, coordinating software implementation and upgrades, equipment needs, and ensuring
systems security.

What are my career aspirations?

My primary career aspiration is to be an IT Manager within the next five years. To achieve my career
dream, I have established both short-term and long-term in terms of career and professional goals.
Accordingly, my short-term ambition is to complete the Higher National Diploma in Computing at
Pearson on time and promote to the next level as a Senior Banking Assistant during the study period.
My long-term career goals are obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and becoming
a competent IT Manager.
