Personal Philosophy of Education
Personal Philosophy of Education
Each individual has a philosophy for how they plan to educate their students.
This philosophy reflects how the subject will be taught, classroom management and
how the students evaluated. The purpose of education is not to just fill our head with
lots of information, but to discover your uniqueness and to teach us how to develop
it, and to show us how to, in return and give it away. I believe that the essence of
education includes knowledge and skills. My philosophy on education falls under
progressivism. It refers to how each student learns. Progressivism is a theory of
education that is concerned with “learning by doing” that children learn best when
pursuing their own interests and satisfying their own needs. I believe that people
learn best from what they consider most relevant to their lives. Progressivists center
curriculum on their needs, experience, interest and abilities of students.
As a teacher, we should know and understand students how they develop and
learn. The progress and achievement of every learner depend on their learning on
how they will apply it in their lives. Making learning a fun of experience and help
invoke new technology. In the new normal, it is hard for us to teach our students
because most of my students have no internet connection and we are in modular
leaning. Wherein my students have self-learning modules, they will learn by their
prior knowledge and experience. I also believe that students learn from their past
experience and to build on the child’s knowledge. It is because students should
expose to experimentation, wherein they will discover learnings from their own. It is a
big help to them to know those learnings that they can apply to their daily life.
