cognition, aggressive affect and decrease in empathy and prosocial
behavior.†However, Anderson says that violent media, including video
games, are not among the only factors for these behaviors. A healthy person
exposed to a video game will not suddenly start to change. Some environmental
factors are more important.
Video games have many effects on the brain. They affect our learning,
emotions, and a psychological pattern called the triumph circuit. We will now
go over the connection between video games and violent behavior. Lots of
studies believe that violent video games will cause aggression.
Moreover, young men already prone to attack are especially vulnerable to video
games’ aggression-enhancing effects. By playing, adrenaline is increased in
the body and will cause high stress while playing a game. Studies have found
that video games raise the fight response, which releases adrenaline and
cortisol.
Many studies have shown that video games increase aggression. Over the past
five decades, engaging with violent media, including violent video games, has
increased the chance of aggressive behavior. However, aggressive behavior
does not always lead to real-world violence and crime. Moreover, there are
other more significant risk factors for real-world violence than violent video
games.
