Other Location Additional factors that influence where the Imager is located include
Considerations proximity to patients, flammable materials, liquids, and other equipment.

CAUTION:
This equipment is not contained in a sealed cabinet. Do not use this
equipment in locations where it can come in contact with liquids,
including body fluids.

IMPORTANT:
• This equipment is intended to connect to other medical devices. Only
an authorized Service Provider of Carestream Health, Inc. Products or
Customer Qualified Service Personnel may install this equipment.
• Do not locate the Imager within 2 m (6.56 ft) of where a cell phone
will be used, even if the cell phone is separated from the equipment
by a wall.
• Do not locate the Imager within 4 m (13.12 ft) of a microwave oven.
Electromagnetic radiation from a microwave oven is only an issue if,
after the oven door is closed and latched, the seal does not maintain
an electromagnetic tight fit between the oven door and the oven main
housing. Determining if the seal has an electromagnetic tight fit
requires special detection equipment.
• Do not locate the Imager in the presence of flammable anesthetics,
oxygen, or nitrous oxide. The Imager does not have a gas-sealed
electronics enclosure and could ignite any flammable or explosive
gases present in the Imager’s environment.
• Do not locate the Imager in close contact with MRI devices due to
possible high magnetic fields near an MRI unit. The magnetic field in
the area where the Imager is installed must be less than 50 Gauss.

1.83 m (6 ft.)

• Do not locate the Imager within the patient environment. Therefore,

do not locate the Imager closer than 1.83 m (6 ft) from a patient bed
or chair.
• Do not substitute or modify any part of the Imager without prior
written approval of Carestream Health, Inc.

Network Requirements
Network Connection The 5800 Laser Imager receives digital images from medical imaging
devices (modalities) over a 10/100Base-T Ethernet Network. A single
10/100Base-T Ethernet Network connection via a CAT 5 UTP cable
terminating in an RJ-45 plug must be located less than 9.5 m (31 ft.) from
the bottom rear of the Imager.

Network Information During the installation, you will enter the network information for the
Imager to let it communicate across the network.
Gather and record the information in the following table prior to the
installation of the Imager. Have this page available when you start the
installation. See your site’s network administrator for help to gather the
information.
Required Information for the 5800 Laser ImagerFill in the table:
Host (Computer) Name
IP Address - Use the format: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Subnet Mask - Use the format:
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Default Gateway - Use the format:
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
DICOM Port Number - The default port
number, 5040, is correct for most installations.
If necessary you can change it for your site.
You will enter the port number in 2 places: at
the modality and at the Imager.

Modality Prior to installation, you must set up the image source (a modality such as
Configuration CT, MRI, workstation, or other imaging device) to send print jobs to the
5800 Laser Imager. At the modality, the Imager must be added as a print
destination. If you need help adding the Imager, contact the modality’s
vendor.
A list of the modalities that will connect to the Imager and the configuration
for each modality must be available at installation. Use the following to
record the information that will be required.

Remote Management Services

The Remote Management Services enables the Service Provider to perform
many of the tasks that the on-site Field Engineer performs. These tasks
include remotely installing software, configuring the Imager, performing
diagnostics, and checking image quality. The Service Provider can isolate a
problem without customer interaction and facilitate problem resolution or
the dispatch of a Field Engineer to provide on-site service.
To utilize the Remote Management Services, the Imager must be connected
to the internet. It is recommended that a high-speed connection be used.
Outbound connections from the Remote Management Services Agent are
initiated securely behind the customer’s firewall over port 443. The Agent
does not require any special port or a fixed IP address. Contact your Sales
Representative or Service Provider for more information about the Remote
Management Services.
Use the following to record information that will be required during the
installation of the Remote Management Services.
