For this assignment, you and two to three of your classmates will produce a short video profiling one of
UIC’s campus resources with the goal of encouraging other students to take advantage of its services.
Your team will explain what services the resource offers, why students should use it, how they can use it,
and what kinds of students might best be served by the resource. We will form teams in class, and your
team will focus on a resource from one of our four domains: Social & Service, Culture & Identity,
Academic Skills, or Career Development. In finding your subject, you might consider what domain most
connects to your talents and strengths and what resource will help you maximize your strengths.
Due to a generous grant from the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs and Academic
Programs (VPUAAP), we have the pleasure of awarding over $3,600 in prizes to groups that produce
outstanding videos. All videos created and submitted to LAS 110 will be considered for the award with
classes nominating their favorite videos, and winners will be honored at our LAS 110 Celebration, an
end-of-the-year event held on November 30 open to all students.
Prizes for winning teams include Apple AirPods, Amazon Kindles, iHome portable bluetooth speakers,
The North Face Vault backpacks, Canon Megapixel Instant Digital Cameras and mini printers, UIC gear,
and more!
