Description Of Change: Improved roller bearings are now used in the second
reduction of the final drive group. The service life of the new roller bearings will
increase. The new roller bearings use segments in order to keep the bearing rollers
from coming into contact with each other.

Prior to assembling the new bearing into the gear bore, ensure that all rollers are
separated by a single segment. There should be no roller to roller contact or
segment to segment contact in any bearing of this type.

Bearings with misplaced rollers must not be reassembled unless the misplaced
rollers were originally part of that individual assembly. If a segment is misplaced or
dropped from the assembly, the segment may be reassembled in the proper
orientation and position within the assembly. Misplaced segments may be mixed
between bearing assemblies with the same part number (as marked on the race).
Bearings with missing rollers or segments must be discarded if the roller/segment
cannot be returned to factory original condition.

Rollers or segments from a set of used bearings must not be sorted and selected by
condition to assemble to a used race for subsequent reuse in a rebuilt planetary
assembly. Multiple suppliers have been approved to provide certain bearing part
numbers. Refer to Table 1.

Each supplier will have a unique part number marked on the bearing. For best
component life, use identical part numbers within a single planetary group. If there is
a truck down situation, and a full set of single part numbers cannot be obtained,
options to assemble rollers with multiple part numbers are possible. In this event,
contact Dealer Solutions Network (DSN) for guidance.
