Actual name-Saheb-e-Alam (LORD OF UNIVERSE). He is a Ragpicker in Seemapuri . His family left Bangladesh as their homes had been swept due to flooding. They came to India as(refuges) from Bangladesh in the hope of finding a good life. They are poor. Saheb replies to the writer that he has nothing else to do other than rag picking. The writer suggests that he should go to school. She realizes that her advice is meaningless for the poor boy. "If I start a school, will you come?"narrtor ask, half-joking. Saheb says that he would join the writer's school and after a few days, he runs up to her to ask whether her school is ready. The writer replied that it takes a lot of time to build a school. Saheb was not hurt because he was used to such false promises. His world was empty as no promise made to Saheb was ever fulfilled. His name was opposite to his life. He went around the streets with a group of friends it was like an army of boys who didn’t wear any footwear( army of barefoot). They appeared in the morning like the morning bird and disappeared at noon. They search the garbage dumps looking for such precious things. The reason that they were barefoot not due to lack of money to buy food but being barefoot for tradition for them .
