COMPETENCY-BASED CURRICULUM

A. Course Design

Course Title: MASONRY NC II


Nominal Duration: 181 Hours
Qualification Level: NC II
Course Description: This course is designed to provide the learner with knowledge, practical
skills and attitude, applicable in performing work activities involve in
laying of hollow block for structure and plaster wall surface. This includes
classroom learning activities and practical work in actual work site or
simulation area.

Upon completion of the course, the learners are expected to


demonstrate the abovementioned competencies to be employed. To
obtain this, all units prescribed for this qualification must be achieved.

Trainee Entry
Requirements:
 A holder of National Certificate Level I in Masonry or must have
at least 1year experience in Masonry or at least Junior High
School Level Completer or an Alternative Learning System
(ALS) Certificate of Completion with grade 10 equivalent holder
 Can communicate both orally and in writing
 Can perform mathematical computation and mensuration
 can perform basic computer operation

 Course Delivery:

Delivery of knowledge requirements for the basic, common and core units of
competency specifically in the areas of mathematics, science/technology,
communication/language and other academic subjects shall be contextualized. The
competencies will be done both in face to face discussion and online discussion through
Google Meet due to this current situation of the pandemic. Theoretical and reading materials
will be provided through printed and online modules through Google Classroom.
Demonstration will be done face to face but for the trainer’s demonstration as part of his
discussion will be done on a recorded video that will be uploaded in the trainer’s google
classroom for the learners’ to watch.

TRAINER’S QUALIFICATIONS:
 Holder of National TVET Trainer Certificate Level I (NTTC Level I) in MASONRY NC II
 Must have completed the 40-Hour Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) per
Department Order No. 13 s. 1998, Guidelines Governing Occupational Safety and Health in the
Construction Industry conducted by OSHC and DOLE accredited Safety Training Organizations
 Must have at least two (2) years industry experience in Civil works and one (1) year teaching
experience in Masonry

Additional Requirement for the Trainer’ in View of the Flexible Learning


 Relevant Training on Facilitating eLearning Sessions or any other relevant training
equivalent to it that is accepted and credited by TESDA.
