Dr. Habib Maca-ayong, president of Mindanao State University, supported an interfaith dialogue program hosted by the university's Institute for Peace and Development. The program featured speakers Dr. Jayeel Cornelo, MP Hamid Barra, Msgr. Edwin Dela Pena, and Prof. Macrina Morados discussing the importance of peace during challenging times. One lesson learned was from Dr. Mario Aguja's address, where he stated that understanding religion and its role in communities is vital for furthering the message of peace.

Interfaith Dialogue during the Challenging Times was a collaborative program of
Mindanao State University's Institute for Peace and Development, in collaboration with the directors and peace coordinators of the various campuses. Our president, Dr. Habib W. Maca-ayong, who continually offered leadership to the university as we envisioned becoming a peaceful university, was instrumental in this. Dr. Jayeel Serriano Cornelo, MP Hamid Barra, Msgr. Edwin Dela Pena, and Prof. Macrina Morados were the speaker on this program, which was hosted by Najifah Macaraya, Yasmira Moner, and Grant Warren. This program was beneficial and relevant to all of us because it discussed about peace. One lesson I have learned from this was from Dr. Mario Aguja's introductory address, in which he says, "Religion is vital in every one of our lives, so we need to understand it and its function in our lives and in our communities, especially in furthering the message of peace."
