1. Introduction
This survey has been carried out in the University of Information Technology (UIT). The
purpose of this survey is to measure levels of employee engagement using the questionnaire of
Gallup Q12 workplace audit. The term ‘employee engagement’ is relatively new with the
concept introduced by Kahn in 1990 as ‘personal engagement’ and ‘personal disengagement’
during a study into the psychological conditions associated with the degree to which people
engage or disengage themselves in their roles.

2. Methodology
A quantitative questionnaire was selected as the survey type and targeted via email with google
form link at a population of 35 teaching staff at UIT. The questionnaire is a replication of the
Gallup Q12 workplace audit. The use of an online quantitative questionnaire seemed the most
efficient method of collecting data and a valid and reliable option. The Gallup Q12 workplace
audit has proven to be a valid measurement instrument of employee engagement.

3. Results
Out of 35 targeted population, 33 responses were collected. Based on these responses, the
results were presented with cross-tabulated across respondent’s position. Findings to this
cross-tabulation exercise are presented both the findings of each and every question of Gallup
Q12 workplace audit and overall employee engagement level.

3.1 Population
The teaching staff at all levels from the University of Information Technology were targeted
as a survey population. The following table and chart represented the number of involvements
in this survey.
