Step 7: Use the inner bearing as a guide
for tool/seal assembly.

Remove old axle sleeve with ballpeen
hammer. Do NOT use a chisel.
Step 13: Use a hammer on the back
of a severe service sleeve or face of a
standard sleeve.
Step 8: Use a 3-5 lb. hammer. Do not
over-drive the seal. Failure will result
from damage.
Remove any gouges or marring from
axle shoulder with a file.
Step 14: Apply thin film of non-
hardening RTV on the axle shoulder only.
Step 9: Use only the same wheel-end
lubricant in hub.
Use only Triseal axle driver and drive
plate.
Step 15: Drive axle sleeve on to shoulder
until the tool rebounds.
Step 10: Use wheel dolly only. Align hub
with spindle and slide on part way. Fill
hub with lubricant.
Inspect for full installation, remove
all excess RTV.
Step 16: Sleeve must be fully installed
and flush with shoulder.
Return to step 6.
Step 11: Install adjusting nut and tighten
slightly. Remove wheel dolly.

Step 12: Adjust the wheel bearing to the
axle nut manufacturers specifications or
to TMC recommendations.

the other side. Remove the axle fill
plug, and add lubricant as needed.
Remove the axle breather, clean in
solvent. Dry with compressed air,
and re-install.
