Santa’s Hat

Santa’s Hat – Script 1

SCENE ONE – GETTING READY- RECEPTION BLUE ON STAGE

NARRATOR: It is the night before Christmas… Christmas Eve. At the North Pole
Santa and his Elves are getting ready. They are getting ready for Santa
to deliver all the presents to boys and girls. The Reindeer are very
excited.

CAROLINA: (Tries to groom a Reindeer who is prancing about) Stand still

Rudolf. This is really hard work.
MARIANA S.: (Standing back to admire Rudolph’s nose) I’m glad Rudolph’s nose
is so bright... We can all see what we’re doing.
PLATON: (In a rather patronising voice) Just one of my many talents my dears!
EMMA: (Brushing very vigorously) I’m going to brush Rita Reindeer’s coat
‘till it shines.
SAMAYA: (Galloping across the stage) I will look like a shooting star as I gallop
across the sky.
OCEAN: (Wiping his brow with a huge handkerchief) It’s such hot, tiring work
putting all these presents on the sleigh.
ELA: Yes, Santa is already tired, and he still has to deliver them all.

MARIANA S.: (Pointing to the Reindeer) The Reindeer are ready.
OCEAN: And the sleigh is full to bursting.
MIKHAIL: (He looks around, still seated) Well I’ll just get my hat and we’ll be
off. Has anyone seen my hat?
ELVES: No Santa!
CAROLINA: (Throwing her hands up in desperation) Don’t say you’ve lost your
hat again Santa!
SIENNA: (Wagging her finger at Santa) You’d lose your head if it wasn’t stuck
on.
SAMAYA: (Kindly patting Santa’s shoulder) Look Santa, you just sit there and
rest. You’ve got a long night ahead delivering presents… We’ll look for

The Elves told Santa to just sit where he was and not to worry.
Then they set off to see just where Santa might have left his bright red
pointy hat.
The Elves thought they would ask the Snowmen. They always took
their evening stroll about now.

SAMAYA: Hello Snowmen, we have a big problem. Can you help us?
CAROLINA: Snowmen always know the answers.
MARIANA S.: We are depending on you.
MARIANA C.: (Big gesture with arms) You can ask any question you want.
