MURUM FILLING

1.0 SCOPE
Applicable for Backfilling activity in Industrial Buildings where either foundation, Retaining
wall, Toe wall, Valley Area.
2.0 EQUIPMENT
• Bulldozers
• Backhoe
• Excavator ,JCB , Pocklain, Dumper, Vibro Roller ( 8 to 10 Ton)
• Lab testing Equipment. For compaction test
• Total Station, Auto Level.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
• Project Manager
• Sr Engineer Jr engineer and Supervisors.
• Quality Engineer -Inspection
4.0 WORK INSTRUCTIONS -1) Mass area
1) Check the sub base surface RL for starting of filling Work.
2) For next filling done by 300mm or as per specification.
3) Note down the RL after every layer & check the compaction test .
4) Filling , watering compaction done by vibro roller .
5) Compaction done till the result of compaction achieving 95% for given soil sample report
receive from third party lab.
6) Prepare soil compaction test register. & sign By pmc Engineer
7) For Retaining wall -
8.1) mark the level for sub base coarse
8.2) filling, watering & compaction shall be done in layer of 300 mm or As Per specification
8.3) the area near Raft, Retaining wall where space area is smaller plate compactor is use.
8.4) Compaction done till the result of compaction achieving 95% for given soil sample report
receive from third party lab
8.5) after Achieving 95% compaction, start next layer.
8.5) after completing of Every Layer Of filling get it approval from pmc and prepare JMR.
