Guide To 3D Printing
Guide To 3D Printing
I. Introduction:
II. Objectives:
Learning how to use a 3D printer and how it works. We will also learn on how to build a
basic 3D model using CAD software, or how the printing process works, the do and
don'ts, and giving tips for beginners on using the 3D printing technology.
III. Coordination:
IV. Proceedings:
I started viewing the presentation on September 29, 2021, Monday 3:00 pm. The
presenter discussed what 3D printing is, what can be printed in the machine, and the
two types of 3D printer machine. Then he proceeds to the 3D printing process: starting
with the CAD model of the object we want to print, then exporting the model as a dot stl
file, then importing the model to the slicing software where we can edit the final touches
in the item and how do we like to the item to be printed, then send it as a gcode file to
the 3D printing machine to be printed. Also he gives examples of the advantages and
disadvantages of using the printer. Furthermore, he gives good advice/tips for beginners
like us, if we want to use the printer in the future. The video lasted for 11 minutes and
23 seconds.
V. Conclusion
I learned what a 3D printing machine is, the advantages and disadvantages of using it,
and although I am not familiar with this technology the process of making your own
model and designing the item then printing it is quite awesome.
VI. Recommendation
I am recommending more knowledge, videos, and tools of the machines that would help
the technical students to be more knowledgeable in this field, especially those that have
courses that are centered in the use of the said machines.
VII. Reflection
It is important to have the knowledge in using 3D printers, so that in the future we can
use that knowledge and apply it when needed.
