The DM density before the freeze-out point follows

the red dashed line, which is the equilibrium
expectation, while it follows the blue dashed line
after the freeze-out, which remains almost constant
with time. The yield decreases exponentially before
freeze-out for cold DM. However, after the freeze-out,
the abundance is larger than what its equilibrium
value would have been if freeze-out had not occurred.
