Activity 2. Personal evaluation

The barangay serves as the basic unit of the government.

From what I have seen in the documents, most of the issues are not so serious and can be
resolved peacefully with the assistance of the Kapitan's guidance and the cooperation of the two-
party. I have observed that there are no many cases from 2018 to 2020. I have also identified in
the classification of crimes, and it shows that there are 8 classifications of crimes, with episodic
crime having the highest data gathered of 66.67 percent, followed by rational crime (10.26
percent), static crime, crime of passion and acquisitive crime (5.13percent), and Instant crime,
irrational crime and underworld crime (2.56 percent).

Based on the total number of cases in our barangay, this indicates that our community
has fewer misunderstandings and problems. And I believe it is a great means of keeping the
peace and harmony we have.

Finally, I understood the true purpose of the barangay in case handling is. When
instances, such as those mentioned in activity one (1) happen, the barangays provide and aid in
decongesting cases that can be settled amicably. When the complainant and respondent are
unable to reach an agreement in the barangay, they would seek a further settlement in court.
This way, the barangay can keep the peace and order in their community while also helping to
improve the lives of the people who reside in their respective barangays.
