POPULAR CULTURE PROJECT ANALYSIS REPORT

PEER REVIEW DRAFT DUE M 4.17

PEER REVIEW FEEDBACK DUE TH 4.20

UWC APPOINTMENT #4 TH 4.20

FINAL DELIVERABLE DUE M 4.24

ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
For the third part of the Popular Culture Project, you'll
analyze the 1-3 forms of textual media (television episodes,
films, literature of all sorts, video games, etc.) you identified
in your Project Proposal. You'll write an analysis of how the
topic appears in popular culture. This means you’ll have to
watch, read, watch, listen to, etc., your chosen text(s), so
make sure you plan the time to do this. If analyzing 1 text,
your analysis should be very deep. For example, if your
topic is the depiction of the medical field, you could
choose to focus on a single TV show and analyze 3
episodes, or you might analyze several episodes from
different shows to demonstrate a widespread
misunderstanding.

You'll also need to analyze how your topic is presented on

social media and analyze 2 social media posts. What social
media platform is most popular for people discussing your
topic? You'll need to explain why one platform is favored
and identify the "best practices" used on the platform for
tagging, sharing, etc.

You began much of this work in your Project Proposal. This

analysis will help you create your social media campaign as
you familiarize yourself with various texts and social media
platforms.
