    SECURITY BENEFITS IN TANZANIA: THE CASE OF NATIONAL SOCIAL


    SECURITY FUND (NSSF)

    General Objective
    The general objectives of the study will be to examine how effective and efficient are the
    processes encountered by civil service retirees in accessing social security benefits in
    Tanzania using the case study of National Social Security Funds (NSSF) in Dar Es Salaam
    Zone Office.

    Specific Objectives
    i. To examine up to date procedures for processing pension benefits in National Social
    Security Fund.
    ii. To determine the challenges faced by pensioners in gaining access to their benefits in
    National Social Security Fund.
    iii. To evaluate the impacts of the challenges found during access of pension benefits by
    the pensioners and their families.

    Research Questions
    i. What are the up to date procedures for processing pension benefits in National Social
    Security Fund?
    ii. What are the challenges faced by pensioners in gaining access to their benefits in
    National Social Security Fund?
    iii. What are the impacts of the challenges found during access of pension benefits by
    pensioners and their families?
