What Can We Eat After Tooth Extraction
For at least 24 hours after tooth extraction, we should eat soft food and liquids. Because after
tooth extraction it would pain by eating hard food such as vegetables and also we have to avoid
smoking. You should eat that food that is easy to chew for few days. After the first day, you
should try mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and soup.
Eat these foods lukewarm but not hot.
Many foods can irritate the wounds in your mouth as they are healing after surgery. The main
foods to be avoided in these conditions are spicy foods, crunchy foods, chewy food, and also
Alcohol to be avoided. We should also avoid the use of straws while recovering from wisdom
teeth removal. Straw creates a suction in the mouth that may cause the development of the dry
socket in the mouth. A dry socket is a painful condition in which the clot was protecting the area
from which the tooth was removed and this will cause that the nerves and bones of that area
would be exposed to air and which may cause pain and also delays in healing the wound.

After the tooth extraction we can not eat hard food as we know we should eat soft food these
days. Normally people in two weeks feel well to go back to their normal diet. We should consult
with the dentist that what should you eat in this condition. The tissues usually fully heal in about
3-4 weeks.

healing process. So load up on foods like eggs, fish, sweet potatoes, and stewed carrots.
The main symptoms of dry sockets are an increase in pain and odor in the mouth. Usually, the
pain and swelling after the tooth extraction get better over the week. With a dry socket, the
pain begins after few days of surgery and significantly worse. The pain may feel like that it has
covered the whole side of your mouth or face.
