Doraemon won numerous awards, including the Japan Cartoonists Association Award in 1994, while Detective
Conan just debuted in January 1994. As of 2019, Doraemon has sold over 250 million copies worldwide,
becoming one of the best-selling manga series in history. In contrast, it was not until 2021 that Detective
Conan reached a circulation of 250 million copies across the world, and the franchise's 24th anime movie was
shown in 22 countries.
