Getting the opportunity to teach one topic up to Grade 11 is without a doubt one of
the most pivotal moments in my journey toward becoming a teacher. To get to the point
where I could actually teach people in person, I had to go through a number of steps and
procedures that I actually enjoyed. My resource teacher has been teaching me how to be a
professional teacher in front of the students in the classroom as well as what teachers do
after classes, and she has been kind enough to give me the opportunity to teach.

I was given the responsibility of instructing the oral communication class for
students in grade 11, which places an emphasis on both interpersonal and intrapersonal
communication. It was both interesting and enjoyable to watch how the students learned
new material. One of the students came up to me after class and expressed his gratitude for
being taught by me, stating that he had gained a lot of knowledge today. At the time, I was
preparing the presentation for my students. As a future educator, it warmed my heart to
hear that students appreciate my teaching abilities and the way I manage the class. I want
to have this experience on a consistent basis.
