What's going on internally is mirrored externally. Regarding our mental health, this
is undeniably true. A wise professor of mine once told me, "What's going on in your mind
will affect what's going on in your body." And I think it's important to make the connection
that when we're feeling down, stressed, or depressed, it shows up in our bodies in some
way. Like a physical illness such as a fever, cold, or cough. It's a perfect reflection of who
we are on the inside. It's as if our bodies are trying to tell us something by making us sick.

The New Era University hosted a fantastic series of lectures and activities in
November focusing on mental health, how to maintain a good state of mind, and how to be
positive in life. These were available via Zoom, YouTube, and in-person seminars. The
annual event serves as a mental health temperature check for both students and faculty.
Preservice teachers like myself, who are unprepared for the stress and mental challenges
of the profession, benefit greatly from the series of activities. Thank you for helping me
refresh my understanding of this topic. Because of this, it is essential for us to participate
in such seminars as preparation for our careers as educators.
