Problem Solving

1. Find the input force F1, if the Area A1is equal to 20.0 cm2. The Area A2 is equal
to 100 .0 cm2 and the output force F2 is 15.0 N.
Follow these steps:
Step 1. Identify the given in the problem.
Step 2. Use the formula/principle applicable (e.g. Pascal’s Formula).
Step 3. Show your solution and computations. Illustrate the problem if needed.

2. Find the area A1 of the piston if the area of the other piston is A2 equals 0.2 m2.
The input force F1, happens to be 100 N and the output force F2 is equal to
10,000 N.
Perform the same steps as in #1 for your solution.

3. One end of a close circular pipe has an area A 1 of 6 cm2 and the opposite end of
the pipe has an area A2 of 2 cm2. If the speed of the fluid at the part of the pipe
of A1 is 2 m/s, what is the speed of the fluid at the A2 side of the pipe?

4. One end of a close circular pipe has a radius r1 of 2 cm and the opposite end of
the pipe has radius r2 = 4cm. If the speed of the fluid at r1 is 2 m/s, what is the
speed of the fluid at the r2 side of the pipe?

Due date is Dec. 16, 11:59 p.m. Your answers should be handwritten in a bond
paper and take a screen shot of it and send to a designated folder in our
classroom. Good luck!
