• Andhra Pradesh, Assam, and Gujarat are among the 15 states and UTs
categorized as achievers in the logistics index chart 2022, according to a
report released by the commerce and Industry Ministry.
• The report has been released by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.
• Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Puducherry, Sikkim, and Tripura are
the other states categorized as fast movers in the ranking.
• The 15 states and UTs ranked in the aspirers' category include Bihar,
Chhattisgarh, Goa, and Mizoram.

effect for 5 years.
• This has been done in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section
3 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967).

Haryana to Build the 'World's Largest Jungle Safari'
• Haryana will develop the world's largest jungle safari park in the Aravalli
range.
• The 10,000-acre safari park will cover Gurugram and Nuh districts.

Adani Green commissioned world's largest wind-solar power plant in Rajasthan
• Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has commissioned the world's largest wind-
solar power plant of 600 MW capacity in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
• The plant has a power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of
India (SECI) at Rs 2.69/kwh for 25 years.
• This project consists of 600 MW solar and 150 MW wind plants.
• In May 2022, AGEL operationalized India's first hybrid power plant with a
capacity of 390 MW in Jaisalmer.
President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated projects in Gujarat worth 1,330 crore
• President Droupadi Murmu has inaugurated and laid the foundation stone
for various projects worth 1,330 crore rupees at Gujarat Medical and
Education Research Society (GMERS) campus in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
• She laid foundation stone for a super specialty hospital, trauma centre and rain
basera, to be built at Rs 373 crore, at Gandhinagar Civil Hospital on the GMERS

hospital at Rajpipla in the tribal-majority district of Narmada. The hospital will
have 540 beds, along with a medical college, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 530
crore.

India emerged as largest producer of sugar in world
• India has emerged as the world’s largest producer and second largest
exporter of sugar.
• In Sugar Season 2021-22, a record of more than five thousand lakh metric tons of

• The bridge is expected to cut the distance between Hyderabad and Tirupati

• Leading stock exchange Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has received the final

demand of approximately 800-900 tonnes and holds an important position in the
global markets.
India's current account deficit rises 2.8%to USD 23.9 billion in Q1
• The Reserve Bank of India has informed that India's current account balance
recorded a deficit of 23.9 billion dollars in the first quarter of FY23, an
increase of 13.4 billion from the last quarter.
• This rise of the current account deficit was from 1.5 percent of GDP to 2.8
percent of GDP.
Centre gives 4% hike in DA to its employees and pensioners
• The Union Cabinet has increased the dearness allowance (DA) and dearness
relief by 4 percent effective July 1, 2022, benefiting 4.18 million central
government employees and 6.97 million pensioners.
• The additional installment of DA and dearness relief (DR) is an increase of 4
percent over the existing rate of 34 percent of basic pay/pension.
GST collection rose 26% to over ₹1.47 lakh crore in September
• The gross GST revenue collected in the month of September 2022 is ₹
1,47,686 crore of which CGST is ₹ 25,271 crore, SGST is ₹ 31,813 crore, IGST
is ₹ 80,464 crore (including ₹ 41,215 crore collected on import of goods) and

Cess is ₹ 10,137 crore (including ₹ 856 crore collected on import of goods).
• The total revenue of Centre and the States after regular settlements in the month
of September 2022 is ₹ 57,151 crore for CGST and ₹ 59,216 crore for the SGST.
• This is the eighth month and for the seventh month in a row now, that the
monthly GST revenues have been more than the ₹ 1.4 lakh crore mark.
• The revenues for the month of September 2022 are 26% higher than the GST
revenues in the same month last year.
SBI launched 'Gram Seva Program' across six states of India
• On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the State Bank of India (SBI) has announced
that it will adopt 30 remote villages across India under the 4th phase of the

Government raised credit guarantee limit for airlines sector
• The Department of Financial Services (DFS) has modified the Emergency

from Rs 400 crores.
• The move is aimed at giving the necessary collateral-free liquidity at reasonable

WTO cuts global trade forecast for 2023 to 1%
• According to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the growth in world

trade is expected to slow down to 1 percent in 2023, down sharply from the

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has launched a
new 'SupTech' initiative called DAKSH.
• This application will be the bank's advanced supervisory monitoring system,
which is expected to make the supervisory processes more robust.
• DAKSH is a web-based end-to-end workflow application through which RBI
shall monitor compliance requirements in a more focused manner with the
objective of further improving the compliance culture in Supervised Entities
(SEs) like Banks, NBFCs, etc.
RBI issued directions for appointment of Internal Ombudsman
• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued directions for the appointment of
Internal Ombudsman for all Credit Information Companies (CICs).
• RBI has said that every CIC must appoint the Internal Ombudsman for a fixed
term of not less than three years, but not exceeding five years.
• The IO shall be either a retired or a serving officer, not below the rank of
Deputy General Manager or equivalent in any financial sector regulatory body
with at least seven years of experience in banking, non-banking finance, financial
sector regulation or supervision, credit information or consumer protection.
• The IO shall not attain the age of 70 before completion of the proposed term and
there shall be no reappointment for extension of term in the same CIC.

• ICICI Bank has launched a unique solution "Smart Wire" for its customers to
help them with SWIFT-based inward remittances in a faster and hassle-free

Retail inflation rose to 7.41 percent in September 2022
• As per data released by the National Statistical Office, the retail inflation
based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was at 7.41 percent in September
as against 7 percent in August.
• Retail inflation rose to a five-month high of 7.41 percent in September mainly
due to costlier food items, reason enough for the Reserve Bank to continue with
its rate hike cycles it has resorted to since May 2022.
• Inflation in the food basket rose to 8.60 percent in September from 7.62 percent
in August.
• It is for the ninth month in a row that retail inflation has remained above the
Reserve Bank of India's upper tolerance level of 6 percent.
IIP witnessed contraction of 0.8% in August 2022
• The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) has witnessed contraction of 0.8
percent in August against growth of 2.4 percent in July this year, according to
the Ministry of Statistics and Programme.
• The IIP had risen 13.0 per cent in August last year.
• The industrial output so far in the fiscal year 2022-23 (April-August) has risen

• India suffered an income loss of 5.4% of GDP due to extreme heat, the
highest among the G20 nations in 2021, according to the Climate Transparency
2022 report.
• The report highlighted that India witnessed a record heatwave that greatly
affected workers, labour migrants, low-income households, and the homeless,
and reduced the yields of wheat crops.
• India is responsible for 3% of global emissions, the report mentioned that

around 142 million people in India may be exposed (10% of the population) to
summer heatwaves at 1.5 Degrees Celsius.

India's space economy to reach $13 billion by 2025
• Indian space economy is set to reach $13 billion by 2025, according to a joint
report prepared by Ernst and Young & the Indian Space Association (ISpA).
• India's space economy was pegged at $9.6 billion in 2020 and is expected to
touch $12.8 billion by 2025, according to the report titled 'Developing the Space
Ecosystem in India: Focusing on Inclusive Growth'.
• It noted that currently, India has of over 100 space tech start-ups with
investments in the segment touching $68 million in 2021.
ISRO to launch Chandrayaan-3 in June 2023
• ISRO Chairman S Somanath has informed that Chandrayaan-3 is almost ready

and likely to launch on June 2023.
• Final integration and testing are almost complete. Still, some more tests are
pending, so we want to do it a little later & there were two slots available one in
Feb & another in June.
• We would like to take June (2023) slot for the launch.
• Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) plans to launch Chandrayaan-3, its

3rd mission to the moon, in June 2023.
• ISRO has also lined up the first test flight of the 'abort mission for Gaganyaan, the
country's 1st human spaceflight, in 2023.
• ISRO plans to fly Indian astronauts into Earth's orbit by the end of 2024.
