New Features:

 It’ll track the calories burned, distance covered, and speed during the various stages of the
running
 We can use the energy from running to charge your phone on your daily run. (piezoelectric
crystals to generate electricity from the pressure generated from running)
 It will be connected to your smartphone and smart band
 Our shoes, smartphone and home devices, main door locks etc., will be smartly connected

Impact on Porter’s five forces:

Rivalry among existing competitors:
 Rivals involve usual shoe brands, Smart watches, smart bands, and smartphone apps. The
technology can be easily imitated. Many cheaper and lower quality products can come into the
market. But we need to maintain the quality and authenticity to exist for a long time in the
market.

Product Security:
 There is a need for higher product security since there can be data leaks about the usual route
of the runner and that is a serious security threat.
 Every time that a customer wears the shoes and wants to utilize its smart functions they’ll have
to undergo a fingerprint scan, authorize themselves on their mobile app
 Shoes can be tracked with our mobile app

Organizational Structure:
 Another separate IT department will be added to the existing organizational structure to take
care of the smart technology used
 The company itself will become more IT focused
 It will become more of a matrix structure where every department will report to the IT
department as well
