Who are the most Artistic?

1st ARGUMENT: Romans were able to create interior spaces that had previously been unheard of. They became
increasingly concerned with shaping interior space rather than filling it with structural supports. As a result, the inside of
Roman buildings was as impressive as their exteriors.

2nd ARGUMENT: While Greek buildings tended to feature cramped interiors built on a more human scale, Roman
buildings had dramatically high ceilings and were generally more flamboyant and grandiose than their Greek
counterparts. An example of which is the Pantheon.

3rd ARGUMENT: While the ancient Romans did not invent domes, they refined the techniques with which to build them,
developed an extensive repertoire of shapes, expanded their potential sizes and ascribed a rich variety of functions and
meanings to the domes they built. Furthermore, the dome-shaped architecture of the Romans is not influenced by
Greeks, instead they came from more ancient civilizations like that of Mesopotamia. An example of this structure is the
dome-shaped Pantheon found in Rome.

4th ARGUMENT: The Greeks classical orders were mere references while the work of Romans is the improved version.
The Romans added their own ideas and their version of the Corinthian capital making it more decorative compared to
that of the Greeks. The Romans also invented the Tuscan and composite design whose intricate style tops all of the
other classical orders created by the Greeks. An upgrade indeed.
