Observation: Cobbler (Micro)


Account size : Doesn’t have an account, deals in cash
Key characteristics and features : The only cobbler in this area which is a big community and
also sells slippers, shoes and Peshawari sandals
Employment : Works alone could have another employee most probably a family member who is
a child
Consumer base : The people living nearby and the shopkeepers as well
Turnover : If he has 50 customers per day then he could be earning approximately 2500-4000
through cobbling (shoe repairing) and could be earning roughly around 5000 max through the
selling of shoes and other items.
Relation to taxation and govt : In my opinion i dont think he has any sort of relation with the
governmental bodies or taxation authorities.
He comes in the informal economy

Interview :
Has 3 employees
Roughly around 10-30 customers per day
Earns approximately 1500 per day

Observation: Naseeb Biryani

Key characteristics and features : Sells biryani and drinks
Employment: 6 employees
Consumer base : The people living nearby and from different areas as well
Turnover : 50-60 thousand
Relation to taxation and govt : No relation with the governmental bodies or taxation authorities.
Comes in the informal economy

Interview :
Has 10 employees
Roughly around 60-75 customers per day
Earns approximately 70-80 thousand per day

Observation: Chaiwaala
Account size : No Account deals in cash
Key characteristics and features : Sells traditional dood patti and parathas
Employment : Roughly around 2-5 employees
Consumer base : people living nearby or people coming from different areas for work etc
Turnover : Around 10-15k per day sales
Relation with governmental and taxation authorities : No such relation
Works in the informal economy

Interview :
8-10 employees 2 commission based
In the morning chana puri is also served with halwa puri
25-30k per day sales
