Purpose:

1 The general purpose is to make sure that a Safe System of Work (SSOW) applies to Lifting, Moving, and Shifting Material at Site
activities; this is the ideal way to prove that the risk associated with a Lifting, Moving, and Shifting Material at Site Activities have been
carefully considered and appropriate controls implemented.

Objective:

This method statement is critical to the health and safety of the activity it relates to. It is to follow and adhered to, any deviation or
changes must be first authorized by the site supervisor.

Scope;

The scope of this method of statement is “Lifting, Moving and Shifting Material at Site activities”. The scopes of this Method off
Statement cover and comply with the local authority requirement.

Responsibilities: 

 The Project Manager/Site Engineer/Forman/crane operator/Riggers/Signalmen and HSE Officer is the overall accountable man for
the process implementation of the works.
4  The Project Manager/Site Engineer/Forman/crane operator/ will be answerable for all lifting activities at the worksite and will
directly monitor and supervise through erection supervisor/skilled workmen the work at the site.
 The Worksite Engineer will be accountable for arranging and controlling the inspection and testing of all project/site activities.
 Moreover, it is the responsibility of all individuals assigned to various activities in the project to take great care to ensure their
personal safety and that of their work colleagues.

Plan:

The plan for lifting operation addressing the foreseeable risks involved in the work and identifying the appropriate resources
(including people) necessary for safe completion of the job. Factors to include may be any or all of the following:

 working under suspended loads

 visibility
 attaching / detaching and securing loads

 location
 overturning
 proximity hazards
 lifting people
 overload
 pre-use checking
 continuing integrity of the equipment

Lifting of New 8 Inch (SS) Main Chilled Water Lines for Blow Molding Machines:

 Position the mobile crane (capacity 25 Ton) on even ground center the body & outrigger fully installed in front of BMD-1 (CPP-1)
lifting bay area at a distance of 30 meters from the wall of BMD-1 (CPP-1) lifting bay.
 When positioning mobile crane, care must be taken to avoid hazards arising from proximity, for example: coming into contact with
overhead power lines, buildings or structures etc.
6  Unload the New 8 Inch (SS) main chilled water pipes from dyna truck & Lift them by mobile crane securely at outside BMD-
1(CPP-1) loading bay.
 Lift the new 8 Inch (SS) main chilled water pipes with mobile crane (capacity 25 Ton) from loading bay outside BMD-1(CPP-1)
and unload at BMD-1 terrace.
 The distance (radius) between BMD-1 terrace area and crane where positioned is 16 meters and boom length 30 meters.
 New 8 Inch (SS) main chilled water pipes for blow molding machines lift to BMD-1 terrace area with mobile crane.
 Unload the new 8 Inch (SS) main chilled water pipe lines & lift them with hydraulic pallet jack trolley (2.5 Ton) to BMD-1
production hall.
