GYPSUM & CALCIUM BOARD OF CEILING WORK
1. GENERAL
1.1. General Provisions
 a new work can be done after completion of all installation work to be

installed above the ceiling has been installed and tested (test).
 All work ceilings should be flat, neat and not wavy.
 All materials posted must be new, good, no defects, wet, and not curved.
 The color and texture of the material must be the same.
 Peil of height ceiling and partition must fit the plan shop drawings.
1.2. Scope of Work
a. This section covers the terms/conditions (payment, delivery, storage,

installation) for labor, materials, and equipment.
b. Include the provision of ceiling material: compound, tape, ceiling hanger
frame, mounting frame hanging and ceiling materials in places according
to the plan drawings, and material order partition. The scope of this work
and the binding force for the entire job ceilings and partitions.

a. All work must refer to standards: E1477 and E 1264 Hymidity - plus
Humiguard resistant.
b. Quality Assurance:
Qualifications manufacturing: product used here should be produced by

companies that are well known and have experience of successful and
accepted by the Consultant Construction Management (CM) and the client.
c. Worker Qualifications:
 at least there should be one person who fully understood against this
section during the implementation, understanding of the needs
required, materials, and methods needed for implementation.
 Trained workforce available to be enough and have the required skills.
 In the acceptance or rejection of the workers, the Court, the client, and
does not permit labor Planner or less without his skills.
1.4. Delivery (submittals)
The contractor shall send to the client, MK, and Planner to the following for
review prior to start of work:
a. Shop drawings, which show:
 The appointment of lay-out

 The details of changes in the level of details on the installation of the

design and construction.
b. Examples of materials that show the actual size and color pattern.
c. Mock-ups representing ceiling mounting system.
d. Copy the complete technical specifications of the plant including detailed

instructions for installation materials.
1.5. Storage and Care Products
 Materials should be sent in sealed protective containers from the factory

or the manufacturer's name, color, size and type.
 Materials must be held / maintained with care to avoid damage in
accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
 Material should be stored in a room, closed, stacked flat, up off the floor
and protected from water, all of which fit the manufacturer's instructions.
2. MATERIALS (Gypsum and Calcium Silicate Board)
Gypsum Board of Ceiling Work
Here are the steps work after installation of gypsum ceiling finishes installed
with hollow frame:
1. Prepare the equipment and ingredients you need for the installation of
such screws gypsum, gun screws (screw gun) or a drilling machine,
cutter blades, elbows handyman, compound gypsum and gypsum tape.
2. Specify the desired ceiling height, yarn or use a water hose to mark the
height of each side of the space. Attach the metal elbow or wall angel on
the sides of the room.
3. Mark the location of the hollow metal on metal elbow with a marker or
use the yarn to make it easy to find the right position while tightening the
screws on the metal gypsum with a screw gun.
4. Hollow commonly used is of hollow galvanized 2cm x 4cm size 20/40

and 40/40 the size of 4cm x 4cm. Hollow distance allowed is
Hollow 40/40 is used as a main frame that supports the weight of

gypsum. whereas the 20/40 as a divisor hollow gypsum and gypsum
as a framework for the screws.

7. If you use screws, make sure the screw head does not get buried and

8. Screws installed must be spaced at least 10mm from all edges of
gypsum panels. While the maximum distance between the screws that
are 150mm to 240mm on the edges of the panel and the middle panel
screws.
9. You have to bear in order to steady the gypsum panel meeting put
two panels in a zig zag line with a metal framework that has been
created. Therefore just use half sheets of the first panel to be used in
the second panel.
10. Continue the installation of gypsum panels around the room by

repeating steps 1-7. Gypsum panel installation requires you to cut
the gypsum board. Here are some tips on cutting gypsum board:
 at the time of the panel cut vertically, use a T elbow, measure
and mark the cutting line. Cut gypsum panels with a cutter
from the top edge to the middle of the panel, then continue
from the bottom edge towards the middle.
 Use a flat board or table and place of gypsum panels so that
the line of intersection is located just above the edge of the
table or board.
 Break panels slowly toward the bottom (see picture). Then use
the cutter to cut the paper coating gypsum panel.
 To make a hole in gypsum panels, can use the rotary drill

(rotary drill) or keyhole saws makers (keyhole saw).

3. INSTALLATION
3.1. Inspection
 Check areas scheduled to be installed this unit ceiling hanger to

determine unevenness, inequality and humid which may affect the quality
and the implementation and execution of work.
 Put a gap and estimate the possibility to access and difficult location
before installation.
 Do not precede job installing ceiling-mechanical and electrical works and
it is necessary for a thorough examination has been carried out to
readiness and other works have been completed entirely.
 If there is a recommendation from the manufacturer has a different
meaning of the specification here, must wear a recommendation from the
factory, except that the specification here should be applied as directed
by the Court and the client.
3.2. Installation of steel framing for suspended and furred ceiling
Buffer ceiling must be placed in accordance with reflected ceiling plans and details
or in accordance with the approved shop drawings, and will be on the line and
level with other instruments or other equipment that has been approved. Use the
"turnbuckles" for leveling.
Hang the hanger from the structural ceiling of the building and do the following:
Install the hanger with the flat and free from contact with insulation or other
objects within ceiling plenum that are not a structural support or ceiling suspension
system. Distantly hanger only when necessary to avoid obstacles and equal for the
horizontal force by bracing, countersplaying, or other effective means.
Fasten flat, elbows, channel, and rod hangers to structure, including connecting
parts of the frame, with gluing and tuck, eyescrews, or fasteners and other
equipment that can strengthen and enough structural including hanger type used,
and the way that will not cause damage or fall due to age, corrosion / rust, or high
temperatures.
Do not connect or iron frame hanging on the ducting, pipes, or conduit.
Fit a metal frame components with size and the distance indicated but not less
than that required of a reference standard iron truss installation.
Wire hanger 1: 4 mm (8 gage) diameter: 1.25 Moc
Carrying 2 channel (Main Runners): 4 cm, 1.12 Moc
Rigid furring channel (furring Members): 60 cm Moc
Wire ties or furring ellipse to the main runners and to other structural support
member in accordance with that indicated by the manufacturer's
recommendations.
3.3. The application and finishing gypsum board
General
Install ceiling panels, gypsum board with a transverse order to minimize the
number of connections in the midst of the tip area on each ceiling. Wear buffer at
end connections of adjacent panels not less than one part of the framework.
By using the "stopping compound" mixed according the manufacturer's

instructions, and screw connections average will be smooth.
The entire surface of the ceiling must be flat, smooth the satisfaction of the Court,

3.4. Installation

2.0. MATERIALS
2.1. Materials
a. Materials used in this section shall be consistent with the rules and standards
referred to herein, and / or equivalent regulations and international standards,
were approved by the client, MK, and Planner.
b. Materials must be non combustibel calcium silicate type, in accordance with the
approval of the Court / Planner.
 Thickness: 6 mm
 Production: Promina, Tombo, or equivalent
 Frame: Using a standardized system of metal Furing
Factory.
 Boards Installment: Self tapping screw and electric drill
 Wall molding: W-section
 gap Finishing: plastering compound, glassfibre tape concealed
 Top finish: Painted

 Pert & Mould: does not rot, mildew, and is easy

d. Order ceiling must wear a standard material for ceiling suspension system,
which consists of:
 Main Carrier
 Ceiling Joint
 Clip Holder for ceiling connection
 Hanger Rods
 Products: Buman, MMJ, Cosmat or equivalent
e. Ceiling hanger, metal hanger that can be installed according to the

manufacturer's recommendations.
f. Extra Sock: 5%
3.0. INSTALLATION

3.3. Application of calcium silicate and finishing
General
a. Install ceiling panels calcium silicate with a transverse order to minimize the
number of connections in the midst of the tip area on each ceiling. Wear buffer at
end connections of adjacent panels not less than one part of the framework.
b. Fit a calcium silicate panels with face side out. Do not install panels that are not
perfect, damaged, or damp. Tie panels together to straighten the edges and ends
with not more than estrangement 1.5 mm between the two panels. Do not be
pushed into place.
c. Paste calcium silicate panels on steel studs so that the edge or end of each
alignment panel attached to the edge of the opening (unsupported) from flangers
studs first.
d. Plasterboard calcium silicate connection will be closed along with glass fiber tape
width of 50 mm concealed type.
e. The average connection will be as follows:
Plastering compound will be mixed according to the manufacturer's instructions,

then use a steel trowel, which is used on all connections, so it will be a "savior"

f. Use the same principle to cover all the screws.
Immediately after all this has been set by means of an iron trowel, cut the excess-
excess compound.
