1 DOWNLOAD THE APP

2 INSTALLATION OF THE APP


a. Click "I Accept" then "Install"

b. Click "Yes" on the pop-up window


c. Tick “Launch Remote Desktop when setup exits” then “Finish”

2 PASSWORD POLICY CONFIGURATION


Please open Local Security Policy > Account Policies > Password Policy and set
the settings like shown below:

3 LOCAL USERS PASSWORD CONFIGURATION
a. Open “Run” and type the following: lusrmgr.msc

b. Click Ok.
c. Go to Users and make sure that EACH user accounts on the list have local
password expiration UNCHECKED (like the screenshot below)

NOTE: This is for ALL user accounts including the disabled users and guest users in the PC.

d. Click "Apply" and then "Ok".

4 FIREWALL CONFIGURATION

a. Open Windows Defender Firewall


b. Click Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall

c. Click Change Settings.

d. Click Allow another App.


e. Click Browse and browse through the location of the remote desktop and
select it

Usually it’s saved here:


C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

f. Click "Add".

DEVICE ENROLLMENT &
ACCOUNT SETUP

1 ACCESS INTUNE PORTAL

a. Open Microsoft Edge on your local desktop


b. Go to this link: https://portal.manage.microsoft.com/devices

c. Input your Office 365 email address (GIG/UPW)

2 ACCOUNT MFA & PASSWORD SETUP


a. After putting your email address and temporary password, it will inform you
that More information required for MFA setup

b. Select "Next" then follow the prompts to setup the MFA

c. After setting up your MFA, it will ask you to set your permanent password

3 ADDING DEVICE IN INTUNE PORTAL

a. Once logged in, click "Tap here to tell us...."

b. Select "My device isn't listed here. Then click Add.

c. It will prompt a small window, click "Open"

d. It will ask to login your "Work or School Account". Input your GIG/UPW
credentials

e. After you logged in, it will prompt the Windows Hello window. Click OK.

f. If you are asked to setup a PIN, just click Cancel

NOTE:

If you setup your


PIN before, it will
not ask you this
step.

g. Don't worry about the error. Just click Skip.

h. Click Done.

i. On the Devices page, make sure that your device is showing Green check in a
circle. Refresh the page until you get the green check.

i. To verify if it is now added, go to Windows settings > Accounts > Access Work
or School. It should look like this:

a. Open Remote Desktop app

b. Click "Subscribe"

c. Sign in using your GIG/UPW Username and hit “Next”


d. It will show the resources you have in Remote Desktop, click "Cloud PC"

NOTE:

It will take up to 3
hours for the
initial setup of
Cloud PC

2 ACCESSING MS TEAMS

a. On the Windows 11 Search, look for "Microsoft Teams (work or school)"

NOTE: There are 2 MS Teams installed in Cloud PC. Make sure you open the one with "work
or school".

b. Sign in using your GIG/UPW credentials

3 CONFIGURE MS AUTHENTICATOR APP


This step is REQUIRED to avoid your account from being locked out and will serve as an additional
MFA method.

a. Open the Edge browser from your CPC.


b. Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info. Sign in your GIG/UPW
account if you are prompted.
c. Then click "+ Add sign in method"

d. Select the "Authenticator" app from the drop down.

e. Click Add.

f. Click the link where you can install the MS Authenticator app or you can
simply search the "MS Authenticator" app from your Apple Store or Play
Store. Hit "Next" once done.

g. It will continue with the Wizard on how to set it up on your MS


Authenticator app. Just click on "Next" on each step.

h. It will ask to scan the QR code using your MS Authenticator app. If it is
not working, you can select "Can't scan image".

It will provide QR code and URL:

i. Once done, just hit "Next". It will send a test notification to see if it was
configured properly. It will show as approved if it was a success. Then hit
"Next" to finish the setup.

j. If you want to make MS Authenticator app as a default sign in method,


just go back to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info and change
it here.

Accessing Onboarding Files
a. In Microsoft Teams of Cloud PC, go to "The Embassy" / "The Consulate" Teams

b. Look for "Onboarding 2.0" channel (if you cannot see it, check the "hidden
channels")

c. In Onboarding channel, go to "Files"

d. Watch the "Welcome Video!"

e. Then watch ALL videos under “Before your Onboarding Session”

If you are under Commercial program, go to “Commercial – Before your


Onboarding session” folder

If you are under Consumer program, go to “Consumer – Before your Onboarding


session” folder

If you are under Magic Carpet program, go to “Magic Carpet – Before your
Onboarding session” folder
