Good morning everyone.

I'm Chrisavene Haye and today ill be doing a poem on how

Covid 19 has affected the education system. I selected the genre of poetry as it would help
the listeners to get a better understanding about my topic. I was inspired by Miss Louise
Bennett who always deliver her poems in a fun but enjoyable way. Articles and videos was
used to put this piece together. Using the formal register will help the listeners to expand in
their thinking ability.

POEM ON THE EFFECTS OF COVID 19 ON THE EDUCATION SYSTEM

Theme: SCHOOL AND COVID

Life was normal; school was normal

Until 2 years ago wearing of masks became the new norm

Covid 19 crawled out of the blue, finding its way over the globe

Making it difficult to have contact with people close

Covid 19,

Disliked by students

Sneaking through classrooms, disrupting students’ normalcy

Shutting down schools hence making children unhappy

Measures were put in place to damage control

Drawing back the one thing that students yearn for

Academic knowledge and a social life

Covid 19,

You have minimized the desire to study in many students drawing a lot back

Like a magnetic force doing its work .

During a worldwide year break

Many spent their lives on the needless

Losing what has been taught in the past

Just like wiping the writings on a white wall; nothing to be found

But just like hiking on a mountain, some excel regardless

Covid 19,

After a year of opening schools

Your damages have led to detestable results

Many students vent and complain on the fact that they have been left behind

Just like a child denied its meal

Leading to students pouring down inks of failure on their sheets

Such a grave dent Covid left.
