ROLE: Technical Operator LOCATION: Trafford Park


HOURS: 3 Rotating shift pattern: Monday to Friday OR
Weekend shift pattern roles available. SALARY: Starts at
90% of, and then up to £28,639 dependant on experience
+ shift allowance of £6178 (For Monday-Friday) or £5159
(Weekends)

JOB PURPOSE
We're looking for a Technical Operator to join this busy
team to look after the operation, maintenance,
improvement and repair of all the machinery. As a
successful Technical Operator here at Unilever, you will
join us bringing your hands-on experience from your
previous maintenance and engineering roles, ideally
gained in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Spotting and finding any faults in the mechanical and
pneumatic machinery and getting to the root cause of a
problem quickly - Assisting in the identification of the
critical control points on the machine modules, ensuring
that they are able to be inspected according to the correct
procedures - Working on high tolerance machinery,
improving the performance of it by developing
maintenance tasks - Completing quality checks -
Communicating with the wider engineering, operations
and distribution teams and maintenance team across the
factory - Developing any training and experience you
already have in World Class Manufacturing tools and
techniques - Performing risk assessments as appropriate
ALL ABOUT YOU
- Qualified to NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent (such as City
& Guilds) in Maintenance and Engineering will be
beneficial, but if you have experience but no qualification,
we believe you can be successful - Ability to communicate
with colleagues at all levels of the factory team -
Computer literate - Experience in using World Class
Manufacturing tools and techniques, such as Kaizen and
5W1H, (although again, if this isn't the case we can help
you develop in this area)
