Figure 1.1. Scatter plot of highest stock prices of Strategic Education, Inc. based on data from

Yahoo Finance (2019)

Fig . 1 shows the pattern of Strategic Education, Inc.'s highest stock prices from October 2018 to

October 2019. Over the last five years, the graph demonstrates the link between the highest stock

prices (in US dollars) on the y-axis and time (in days) on the x-axis. The scatter plot appears to

be a curve trend, with a strong non-linear structure and a modest curve. The stock price surged in

the opening of 2019, as seen in the graph, before briefly falling. It began to rise over time, but

after a certain period of time, it began to fall. After looking at the graph, it's clear that the

statistics are unaffected by the actions of others. There seems to be no assurance that the stock

price would keep on rising or fall as time passes. However, this graph shows a positive linear

trend by the end of 2019 (the rising price of stock over time). Investors anticipate the firm to be
4

lucrative in the future, as seen by the growing stock price. The more people that desire to acquire

shares, the higher the price.

Figure 1.2. Scatter plot of lowest stock prices of Strategic Education, Inc. based on data from

Yahoo Finance (2019)

Fig 1.2 depicts the lowest stock price movements for Strategic Education, Inc. from October

2018 to October 2019. The graph shows the link between the y-axis (lowest stock prices in US

dollars) and the x-axis (time in days). The scatter plot appears to be a curve trend, with a strong

non-linear structure and a modest curve. The stock price surged in the starting of 2019, as shown

in the graph, before briefly falling. It began to rise over time, but after a certain period of time, it

began to fall. After looking at the graph, it's clear that the data are unaffected by the actions of

others. There seems to be no assurance that the stock price would keep on rising or fall as time

passes. The scatter plot, meanwhile, takes on a positive linear shape with a small slope by the end

of 2019, showing little volatility in the lowest stock prices. The scatter plot also shows that there
5

have been no noticeable outliers, indicating that Strategic Education Inc.'s market shares are

stable.

Interpret the Histogram:

Figure 2.1. Histogram of adjusted closing stock prices of Strategic Education Inc. based on data

from Yahoo Finance (2019)

The number of instances of daily adjusted closing stock prices occurring within evenly

distributed continuous data ranges is shown in Figure 2.1. "After accounting for any corporate

actions, the adjusted closing price modifies a stock's closing price to represent that stock's worth"

(Ganti, 2020). The number of instances of prices falling inside the ranges of adjusted closing

stock prices is noted on the y-axis, while the limits of adjusted closing stock prices are indicated

on the x-axis. Investors benefit from adjustments since they may see a clearer image of the

stock's performance. A random distribution appears to be represented by this graph. There are

several peaks in a random distribution, and there is no discernable pattern (Histogram-Examples,

Types, and How to Make Histograms).

6

Meanwhile, the Histogram is almost symmetrical, and the mean and median are about identical,

indicating that the adjusted closing stock price of Strategic education Inc. in the market is not

volatile.

Figure 2.2. Histogram of stock volume of Strategic Education Inc. based on data from Yahoo

Finance (2019)

Within continuous data ranges, Figure 2.2 shows the number of times Strategic education Inc.'s

daily stock volumes were bought or sold. The x-axis depicts stock volume ranges, while the y-

axis depicts the frequency of instances of stock volumes falling within the ranges. "Trading

volume is a measure of how much a certain financial asset has traded over time" (Mitchell,

2021). Investors can see the power behind increases and dips in Strategic education Inc. by

looking at volume trends. The trading volume of Strategic Education Inc. soared at one point

throughout the year and then leveled down.

The histogram is skewed to the right, showing that the bulk of daily stock volume data sets are in

the lower levels. This shows that the histogram is favorably skewed, with the average exceeding
7

the median. The histogram is heavily skewed to the right, with 80 percent of the data points lying

within the lower ranges of stock volume, showing uneven distribution and difficulties in

guessing the daily stock volume of Strategic Education Inc.

Statistics that is descriptive in nature:

Adjusted Closing Stock Prices

The average (mean) of Strategic Education Inc.'s adjusted closing stock prices is $123.17,

showing a good market position and consistent revenue and profit growth over the previous year.

The median price of Strategic Education Inc is $124.79, which is somewhat higher than the mean

and represents outliers on the lower end of the stock market. This graph depicts how the stock

price of Strategic Education Inc has changed over the course of the year. The computed standard

deviation was $12.31, indicating a moderate risk in owning Strategic Education Inc.'s low-

volatility shares. "The standard deviation will produce a low value if prices trade in a small

trading range, indicating little volatility." In contrast, if prices fluctuate drastically, standard

deviation yields a high number, indicating extreme volatility" (Fidelity, 2021).

Daily Traded Stock Volume

Strategic Education's average daily traded stock volume for the year was 141620.4, that is

considered good liquidity because firms that move less than 10,000 shares per day are considered

low-volume stocks. This data set's median is 123800, which is lower than the mean. Strategic

Education Inc. exhibits outliers on the high end of this data with big jumps in daily stock

volume, while the median is smaller than the mean. The standard deviation is 76984.51, that

indicates a high level of volatility and is equal to 54.4 percent of the average stock volume. This

indicates that the volume of Strategic Education Inc.'s shares has been inconsistent.
8

Conclusion:

Strategic Education's stock history's graphs and charts and statistical computations provide

important ideas that might aid management in making decisions regarding the introduction of

new plans and development. The following are some key patterns that managers should be aware

of:

 Whereas the lowest and highest stock prices gradually rose and fell in the second and third

quarters, the fourth quarter is marked by mild losses and recoveries in the lowest and highest

stock prices;

 A daily traded stock volume volatility of 54.4 percent suggests that the rate of exchange of

Strategic Education Inc's stock is very unpredictable. High stock volume volatility

frequently reflects a company's unexpected results or the market's distribution of positive or

negative information about the company or industry (Morah, 2018).

Consciousness of stock price trends may aid management in deciding to launch plans or upgrade

offerings in the early and late parts of the year, which may generate buzz and drive sales during these

times; this could support still another rise in revenue sales and profits during the more stable third

and fourth quarters. With considerable daily stock volume, the histogram for adjusted closing stock

prices reveals that a lot of data values lie inside the upper range of 105 and 133 U.S. dollars. This

may prompt administration to double stock volume while halving stock prices, increasing demand for

the stock and, as a result, improving the company's market value.

The scatter plots for the top and lowest daily stock prices show how the stock price rises and falls

over time. The scatter plots also show that prices were valued better at the beginning of 2019

than they were in 2018, demonstrating the influence of the company's quarterly success. The

histograms show that, while the median for adjusted closing stock prices was in the higher range
9

of the data set, the median for stock volume was in the lower range, indicating high requirement

for Strategic Education Inc.'s stock and, at the same period, a reluctance to sell on the part of

Strategic Education Inc.'s shareholders.
