REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE, Papa (Advantages)
As the pandemic COVID-19 shocked the world with changes we are all must adapt, all aspects of
society were then forced to adjust. On this paper, the researchers will focus on the Advantages
of Online Learning.
According to research conducted at United Arab Emirates, the influence of controlling the e-
learning environment on educational learning can be seen in providing equitable access to
information regardless of the users' locations, ethnic origins, races, or ages. The e-learning
environment also encourages students or learners to rely on themselves, so that instructors are
no longer the sole source of knowledge, but rather function as guides and advisors. (Joshua et
al., 2016).
Several research have demonstrated the favorable effects of e-learning based on learner or
student perspectives. For example, e-learning allows for much more flexible learning methods
to attend for classes with much less need for travel. Learners can gain a greater understanding
of the subject by participating in classroom activities using the interactive video facility.
(Gautam and Tiwari, 2016; Martínez-Caro, Cegarra-Navarro and Cepeda-Carrión, 2015). This
allows learners to respond promptly toward the activities.
As mentioned in research conducted by Manijeh Sadeghi, 2019, distance Learning may not be
the greatest option for every student seeking a college degree or university program, but the
benefits appear to outweigh the list of drawbacks. The mentioned advantages are the
following: The best part about online education is that you may learn it from any location and
at any time; it may be much more affordable; no transportation required; learning can be set
focusing on the learner’s convenience.
One could argue that the major goal of distant education is to deliver education to individuals
who are out of reach, under-resourced, under-privileged, or inaccessible. (Biana, 2013).
Distance education, in this sense, "reaches out to students wherever they live or wish to study."
(Guri-Rosenblit, 2005). This type of flexibility allows learners to actively participate in their
learning. (Guri-Rosenblit, 2005; Daniel, 2016). Students learn even though they are
geographically and/or chronologically isolated from their teachers. (Edge and Loegering, 2000).
Distance learning became a requirement for learners and educators all across the world during
COVID-19. (Ali, 2020).
