Laboratory Exercise No. 8

EVAPOTRANSPIRATION

Given the climatic data (Excel file) and the following location information:

Location: Barangay Alanib, Lantapan, Bukidnon

Latitude: 8o3’52” N
Longitude: 124o55’78” E
Elevation of weather station: 1, 210 masl
Relative Duration of Bright Sunshine, n/N: 64.7%
Height of anemometer: 3 m

A. Compute the evapotranspiration rate of the location on your birthdate on 2004

using the following methods:

Date of Birth: ____________________________

1. Penman Equation
2. Hargreaves Radiation Method
3. Pan Evaporation Method
(With the evaporation pan placed in dry fallow area, medium RH, wind speed
of 5-8 m/s, and 100 m windward side. Use the evapotranspiration value of the
Penman Equation for the Epan value.)

B. Discuss the applications, advantages and disadvantages of using the different

methods in computing the evapotranspiration rate. (include FAO-Penman-Montieth
Equation)

Note:
1. Include the Screenshot of the excel table of your birth month. Highlight your birthdate.
2. For Penman Equation, you may follow the summary of solution (as per example) but all detailed
solution SHOULD BE HANDWRITTEN.
3. Solution for Hargreaves Radiation & Pan Evaporation Methods SHOULD BE HANDWRITTEN.
4. Present your solutions ORDERLY and NEATLY. Handwriting should be legible.
5. Page margin of 1” at the top & bottom and 3/4” at right and left sides
