METHODOLOGY

Research Design

The main purpose of this research accesses the experiences of BPE students in the New
PE Curriculum. Data collection and data gathering of methodologies will be implemented.
Therefore, descriptive research design is chosen as it enables the research to describe the current
situation of the study area.

Subject of the Study and Sampling Scheme

This study is focused on the students who are taking up Bachelor of Physical Education
Major in School Sports at Lyceum-Northwestern University. Through total enumeration, fifty-
one (51) students were the respondents.

The respondents' email address, name(optional), sex, age, course and degree program
whether the respondents are graduate or undergraduate were taken into consideration by the
researchers as significant profile characteristics. Purposive sampling will be used as the sampling
procedure of this study. 51 respondents will determine the experiences of BPE students in the
New PE Curriculum.

Data Gathering Instrument

The data will be gathered using survey questionnaires. a structured shape that has a set of
inquiries intended to elicit and elicit responses from respondents. Researchers you have a
complete and ready-made list of inquiries. We'll utilize a structured survey form.

A Likert Scale is employed in the survey's opening section. A Likert scale is a

psychometric scale in which respondents indicate how much they agree with a statement when
answering to a questionnaire item. The researchers created a Likert scale with five options. Each
column head on this table of Likert items has a related scales (strongly agree, agree, neutral,
disagree, and strongly disagree) that a person might use to express their opinions.

There are nine (9) items on the survey about the experiences of BPE students in relation
to the new PE Curriculum and five (5) recommendations statements. The survey will be
delivered to the respondents. Short questions are provided along with the second section of the
survey form. The respondent will choose one from the options provided beneath each question,
and response by examining the checkmarks. The researchers will assess the outcomes of the data
collection using the legend.

Collection of Data

In gathering process, the researchers needed to collect, represent and analyze the data.
The researchers will give a copy of questionnaire among the respondents to identify the primary
objective which is the experiences of BPE students in the New PE Curriculum. The researchers
used quantitative research to gather the individual information by the use of questionnaires. They
made it with an effort and cooperation in developing the questionnaire so as to serve its intended
respondents.

Statistical Treatment of Data

Data were collected, tallied and analyzed and interpreted through the help of some
statistical computation in order to determine the experiences of BPE students in the New PE
Curriculum.

To answer the question number 1, the researchers used Slovin's Formula to get the total
of respondents (45)

S = N / 1 + Ne^2

Where:

E= 0.05

N= BPE Total Population (51)

To answer question number 2, regarding the statements of each domain about the
expectations of BPE LET Examinees in the New PE Curriculum, the researchers utilized
weighted mean.

The formula was shown below:

E (fx) / E(f)

A weighted mean is a kind of average. Instead of each data points contributing equally to
the final mean some points contribute more "weight" than others.

E= the sum of

W= the weights

X= the value

The researchers used the following ranges based on the "five-point scale" or Likert Scale
utilized in the checklist-questionnaire for interpretation on the question no.2

Descriptive Equivalent Numerical Mark Ranges

Strongly Agree 5 4.6 – 5.0
Agree 4 3.6 – 4.5
Neutral 3 2.6 – 3.5
Disagree 2 1.6 – 2.5
Strongly Disagree 1 1.0 – 1.5
