Q1. A receiver receives a block of data 11010011 01010111 11010011 11111110

00001110 01 011000 1. If the system is using 8 by 6 two-dimensional odd parity,
is this pattern in error?

Q2. Given the dataword 100100 and the divisor 1101.

a) Show the generation of the codeword at the sender site using binary division.
b) Show the checking of the codeword at the receiver site assuming no error has
occurred.
c) What is the syndrome at the receiver end if the dataword has an error in the 5th
bit position counting from the right.

Q3. Repeat Question 2 by using polynomials instead of binary arithmetic.

Q4. Given the codeword 01111001111 is received. Find out the error if any using
Hamming code error correction.
