IV. PROCEDURES
A two-part review will be conducted by the teacher to
measure the student’s retention regarding the topics
from the last discussion.

A. Reviewing previous lesson or o Part I: Signs and symbols commonly seen

presenting the new lesson inside a laboratory

Student’s will revisit the science behind
weights and measure which is commonly
known as Metrology. All the necessary
skills relevant to measurement and
conversion will be remastered to increase
the accuracy of their future experiments.
The teacher will facilitate an activity regarding measurement reading from the
following measuring tools below:
o Ruler
o Thermometer
o Triple Beam Balance
The teacher will wrap up the discussion in the form of a series of
question which are as follows:
a. What is measurement?
b. What are the advantages of using the Metric System?
c. What are the methods used to measure the volume of a
certain object?
d. How is mass different from weight?
e. What unit of measurement is used to describe temperature
readings in the Philippines?

F. Finding practical
applications of concepts and
skills in daily living
ELABORATE
The teacher will ask the students to measure some the of
daily objects that they usually use in school e.g., ball pen,
pencil, eraser etc.

Convert the following measurements.

1. Convert 5 meters to centimeters.
2. Convert 800 milligrams to grams.
