LESSON PLAN IN AGRICULTURAL CROP PRODUCTION

Date: September, 20 2022 (Monday)


I. Objectives
At the lesson, students will be able to create forms for monitoring the preventive maintenance and
demonstrate skills in sharpening tools.
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Pre-Operative Check Up of Farm Tools, Implements and Equipment
References: Technology and Livelihood Education-Agri.Crop Production Module, pp.29-33
Instructional Materials: Manila paper, pictures
III. Activities/Strategies
A. Review
The teacher will show video clips on farm safety principles and workplace accidents to share
awareness on the common causes of accidents and how they should avoid it. After the presentation, the
teacher will ask for any feedback on what they’ve seen and how they feel they should do.

B. Presentation/Development of the Lesson


Activity 1
The teacher will start the lesson by giving a situation in connection with the new lesson. The teacher
will discuss the importance of cleaning garden tools for everyday use as well as how to create forms for
monitoring preventive maintenance. Steps will be posted on a manila paper for students to copy.

Activity 2
Students will be group. After learning about the preventive maintenance of different farm equipment,
they will be ask to make an inventory reflecting the condition of all the tools and equipment. They will
submit this form after the inventory of the existing garden tools.

C. Mastery/Deepening
The teacher will ask the students to bring materials for sharpening of tools like oil, sandpaper,
cloth/rag, and tools that needs sharpening. They will clean the tools they bring with them by pair using the
materials being mentioned. They will practice on how to remove dirt and rust that usually causes the tools to
lose its efficiency in the garden works.

IV. Evaluation
The students will be individually assessed on a practical demonstration on the proper sharpening and
cleaning tools. They will again bring their materials for the said demonstration. They will be graded on the
following criteria:
 The blade is properly sharpened and cleaned -5 pts.
 Step-by-step procedures are correctly followed -5 pts.
 Safety precautions are properly observed -5 pts.
 Housekeeping is performed accordingly -5 pts.
