Describe a prize that you would like to win.

I’m going to talk about my university scholarship. It is an annual prize to encourage students for
a semester of hard studying. I heard about it when I still was a freshman, in the meeting for new
students. 5 million is not a big amount of money but it is enough for the tuition fee in a semester.
Therefore, every student wants to achieve it once in their campus life so it is an uphill battle.
Students who want to gain that prize need to put a huge effort into studying. And it requires your
overall score higher than 7.5, approximately 3.0 in GPA. Besides, your final exam for all
subjects is no lower than 5. It sounds easy but really hard to ensure your score, especially in
some subjects like philosophy. Fortunately, I had one last year, but I didn’t even know about it
until my friend asked me to change electronic money into cash. At that time, I belike “what, why
it had money in my acc, is something wrong here? They might transfer to the wrong student”
because I didn’t see my name on that list. So I set a goal to achieve a scholarship officially. It is
not to prove myself, I do study as a hobby of gaining new knowledge and it will be more
attractive if I can earn money through studying.

Describe an aim or goal that you hope to achieve in the future

I’m going to graduate next year and find a job after that, and English is a vital aspect to widen
my career path in the future and IELTS is a prestigious certificate to evaluate my skills. And I
am on the way to achieving 6.5 IELTS. It is not only helpful in academic study but also an
advantage in work. So IELTS exam is an uphill battle. There are 4 skills: reading, listening,
writing, and speaking. And it requires a non-stop effort to sharpen day-by-day practicing. I’m
just a new learner so it is hard to define which skills are my strengths. But I think I am good at
reading, according to my standard. It is easy for me to analyze information or find keywords I
need in a paragraph. And I spend more time practicing writing and speaking because my
pronunciation and intonation are not really mature, still a little bit messy and I find it is difficult
to come up with some ideas immediately .it is a long way to achieve that aim but I believe on the
day I make it, it will open the door for a lot of opportunities to progress in my career, higher
position, handsome salary, etc… IELTS is the nearest goal I set to achieve in the future so I’m
trying my best.
