5) Demand Deposit Account

Demand Deposit Account (Current or checking account) is a non-interest-bearing account and is


opened or operated by literate customers only and it is operated by cheque book.

1.6) Fixed time Deposit

Fixed time deposit is a type of deposit is a type of deposit, which is received for a certain period
of time without withdrawal and attracts higher interest rate. The minimum period of accepting
fixed time deposit shall be six months. The rates of interest vary according to the duration of the
deposit received i.e., the longer the deposit remains in the bank the higher is the interest rate
earned.

1.7) Foreign Currency Accounts

A foreign currency account is an account in which the source of fund is overseas and can be
maintained in hard currency or in local currency.

The major types of foreign currency accounts are:

 NRNT (non-resident non-transferrable)


 NRT (non-resident Transferable)
 Non-resident Transferable foreign currency account

3) Electronic Banking Services

3.1) Card Banking services

Addis international Bank provides ATM services using ‘Addis card’. Addis card enable you to
access your cash 24/7 and can make transaction using any of the ATMs of all the other banks. In
addition, POS (point of sale) services are coming soon.

Using Addis card, you can:

 Withdraw cash
 Transfer cash from one account to other account
 Check balance (balance inquiry)
 Take mini statement of your account
 Receive money from non-card holders
 Send money to non-card holders, etc.

3.2) Mobile banking services

Addis international banking has launched mobile banking services that allow you to access your
account with your mobile phone.

5) Local Money Transfer Services


Customers can relative and sent money from/to anyone in the country through Addis
