1. WHY DO YOUTHINK WAS ERIKA UNDERACHIEVING WHEN SHE WAS ON
HER 6TH GRADE?
The learner become underachieving because she is not interested in the
topics in th 6th grade, her line of interest and level of IQ is not fit in the
topics and activity tasked in 6th grade level.
2. HOW DID THE CHANGE IN THE APPROACH HELP ERIKA PERFORM
BETTER IN HER STUDIES?
She may be able to work hard in the level and fields of education in
college, because it fits her IQ level, the interest and motivation is there
and the adviser in college was able to give her satisfaction and better
school performance.
3. WHAT DID YOU LEARN FROM THE CASE ABOUT HANDLING GIFTED
LEARNERS?
That diagnostic test is important, most of the time conducted at the
beginning of the school year or first day of school in this way or through a
random question a educator will be able to analyze and classify what the
students know and still don’t know about the topic to discuss, after this you
may be able to come up with a fit teaching strategy.

Charm Cortez For me giftedness is the thing that even I exert less effort i can do
easily because im gifted. Other may experience difficulty in that
situation but for me I can do easily in a short period of time.
Princes Lyra My concept about gifted and talented learner is to explore and utilize
Lagunlin my talents. It will also help me in the future especially in my course
because i have practical skills such as to encourage my critical and
creative thinking.

2.2 AMONG THESES FIVE CATEGORIES WHICH ONE BEST CAPTURES THE
INTERVIEWEES DEFINITION OF GIFTEDNESS?
There are different terms to define a gifted learner. There are one of a
kind, in a one district or school there are only 5% learners that is
considered aa gifted. So, it is very important to provide educational needs
that fits to them. Adjust teaching strategies according to their IQ level,
distinguished a diagnosis test to determine their needs, what they already

know and still don’t know. There should be special school for them like
their advance skills and mental abilities should cope up by leveling them
with students who have the same abilities regardless of age. We should
always think that there are special with special needs and equally
deserves a quality education, be inclusive and let them fit in. Students are
all unique with different needs.
