REFLECTION:

Ethics are defined as a set of principles of right conduct the rules or standards governing the conduct of
a person or the members of a profession. Teachers are often put in situations that require more than
just knowing the basic school rules. There is not always a right way to deal with many daily problems
that face educators, but there are ways to handle situations that are better than others. Teachers
should follow and refer to a code of ethics to help teach in the most appropriate and ethical way.
Because of that teachers are expected to maintain challenging expectations that will improve the
potential of all learners through meaningful and inclusive participation in the classroom, school, and
community. Also the Code of Ethics encourage teachers to improve teaching and learning activities in
the classroom. Keeping up with new trends and current information, through professional development
and continuing education, allow teachers to do their best to each student. And this lesson, I have
learned that as a future educator we must always keep in mind that this code of ethics is just only for
our own good and also for our students good that we must always follow.

REFLECTION: Why should teachers know their rights and privileges? Give 5 and explain each briefly.

1. Retirement Benefits
Every teachers should have this privilege after of how many years of service in teaching. They
deserve to have a retirement benefits in which they will have a retirement pay or 90% of their
salary would be given to them as their pension.
2. Maternity Leave
Every Female teacher must have this privilege if they will be pregnant they deserve to have a
maternity leave for their own good and for the good of their baby and by that their monthly
salary will not stop.
3. Enjoy Academic Freedom
Every teacher have the right to choose if what kind of method of teaching they think that’s the
best for their students.
4. Special Hardship Allowance
Health and safety hazard allowance is important for all teachers in commuting in their place of
work.
5. Compensation for Injuries
The teacher's health shall be recognized as a compensable occupational disease in accordance
with existing laws.
