The Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “Current Trends in Civil Engineering”
(CTCE - 21) addressed the present state of the art practices and research practices in various
disciplines of civil engineering. The FDP was conducted from 19th to 24th April 2021, a one
week program with two sessions conducted each day. The experts were invited from different
institutions holding various expertise such as Structural, Geotechnical, water resources,
environmental etc. The expert talk sessions are recorded and are uploaded on the BMSIT Civil
Engineering YouTube Channel.
Outcome The sessions were undertaken with a healthy discussions and the
outcome was the exposure of participants to the state of the art
practices by engineers and the present research topics.
Feedback The feedback were taken for every session and they were
positive.
Revenue/Cost NIL
Lessons learned for next FDP It was learnt from the feedback that the sessions were supposed
to be more interactive. Moreover, few of the participants
suggested including topics on Earthquake engineering and
dynamic related topics. Thus for the next FDP more research
oriented topics are to be included
