FILIPINISM

Filipinism

Filipinism is a sentence or words that we thought it is right. But this is grammatically

wrong, it is common to us Filipinos when we tried to translate a sentence by words to words.

Like example we always used to say "buksan mo nga tv" that means when you directly translated

in english "open the television" which is wrong because we can't open literally the television. So

instead of saying that we might say the right english phrase. "Can you turn on the television?"

For me it should be changed because we want our generations to learned a lot and more

knowledgeable in terms of speaking. because we all know that speaking in right grammar or

terms is absolutely good and has advantages when applying for a work in international or here in

our country. In fact that in our generation now is we need to be more knowledgeable in many

things because the longer it takes the more that people becomes smart and advance in thinking

skills. Additionally is when I was a child I used to say "mama brownout pala" when we don't

have electricity. but the right term is "blackout". So instead of saying "brownout" now I used to

say the right term "blackout". The term "brownout" is another kind of filipinized word that we

need to correct and changed. So that other people who didn't know what's the right term for loss

of electricity, knows the right term/word. And to teach to the younger generations the right term

to used. so that they will become knowledgeable in terms of using right terms/phrase of words.
