(iv) To keep a log of all the defect encountered during the operation of the
HTS in order to keep a watch on the performance.
(ii) Studying the books of reference and OEM manuals for the system.
(iv) Understanding the various defects which occur while operating the
Helicopter Traversing system onboard i.e. leakage of hydraulic fluid from the
system, defect in three way valve in Main carriage, defects in wire rope, mis-
alignment of system track, air leakage from system pipelines, defect in auto
tensioner device etc.
(iii) The study of project enhances the knowledge of different parts and
defects observed in the HTS onboard marine vessels.
(iv) It will increase the reliability and efficiency of HTS by proper operation
and maintenance.
(v) The study is to accelerate the working efficiency, if one has knowledge
of operation of the system.

The Helicopter Traversing System onboard my ship was installed in 2005 and
