LAB REPORT
PROGRAMMING 2018
Task 12/P7:
Implement a networked system based on a prepared design.
Introduction:
In this task, I am required to implement the network design of SBI Bank Limited using suitable
software presenting the screenshots of every steps. For this, I am going to prepare a lab report in
which I am going to design a network diagram for SBI Bank Limited with screenshots of every step
with the help of snipping tools.
Lab Report:
Domain Controller:
Definition:
“Domain Controller(DC) is one of the feature of the server computer which allows to
authenticate security policy to the computers in the network. A domain controller (DC) is a
server that handles all the security requests from other computers and servers within the
Windows Server domain.” (Emberton, 2018) DC is mainly used to create and manage the domain
user and groups and implement group policies.
Pre-requisites: One PC, Server OS, static IP address, must login from administrator, ADDS.
Step 1: Go to Start and select administrative tools. Step2: Select Server Manager.
Step 3: Open Server manager and Select Add Roles Step 4: Click on Next.

Step 5: Select Role-based installation and click Next. Step 6: Choose option Select a server from the
server pool and Next.

DHCP:
DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Control Protocol. DHCP server is a type of system server which
assigns dynamic IP address, gateways, subnet mask and other system configuration to client
networking devices automatically. DHCP is mainly used in large scale organizations where more
time will be consumed for assigning IP address and where large computers are in use. By assigning
different IP address to the device connected, DHCP allows them to communicate with each other.
Step 1: Go to Start and select administrative tools. Step2: Select Server Manager.
Step 3: Open Server manager and Select Add Roles Step 4: Click on Next.

Step 9: Click on Next for three times. Step 10: Tick Restart the destination server
automatically if required and Click Install.
Step 11: After the installation is complete, Click on Close. Step 12: Go back to Server manager and on tools,
choose DHCP.
Step 13: Click on IPV4 and select New Scope and Click Step 14: Give the name of scope and description and
Next. click next.
Step 15: Assign IP address range that DHCP uses to give Step 16: Set lease duration for the scope and click
to client computers. Click Next for 2 times. Next 6 times.
Step 17: Finish the new scope wizard. Step 18: Now go to the client Computer connected
to domain controller.
Step 19: Obtain an IP address automatically. Step 20: Through this DHCP Server, now you can
assign IP address to your network clients

RODC:
RODC stands for Read only domain controller. RODC is that type of domain controller in the
Windows Server operating system which assist Domain Controller that’s why RODC is also called
as Assistant domain controller or Helping Domain. RODC is mainly used to handle the balance of
the primary domain controller (PDC).

Step 13: click on install. Step 14: Let the system Restart and check.
Last step: Check computer system properties. RODC was successfully installed.
WDS:
WDS stands for Windows Deployment Services. “Windows Deployment Services is a server role
that gives administrators the ability to deploy Windows Operating systems remotely. WDS can be
used for network based installation to set up new computers so administrators do not have to directly
install each operating system.” (Rouse, 2017)

Print server:
“A print server is a software application, network device or computer, that manages print requests
and makes printer queue status information available to end users and network administrators.”

Conclusion:
From this task, it can be concluded that the network system of SBI Bank Limited based on prepared
design is implemented successfully and effectively. For this particular task, I have prepared lab
reports including how to configure the servers with snapshots of each with description of every steps.
