Guidelines for returning electronic assemblies

to Gebrüder Martin GmbH & Co.KG


To expedite speedy processing of all returned electronic assemblies / boards, we would ask our customers
to observe and comply with the attached procedure.

More detailed explanation of the guidelines:

1. Electronic assemblies and circuit boards from product area 4 can be returned.
This includes electrosurgical units, electrosurgical auxiliary units and laser assemblies.

Acceptance of the goods is only possible with a completely filled out goods return note
and proof of decontamination.
To this purpose, a ticket number must be requested in advance from the relevant
Customer Service.

Gebrüder Martin offers replacement /exchange components for many electronic


assemblies / boards up to an age of 5 years from the date of the delivery note.

Up to a maximum age of 10 years, assemblies or circuit boards


can also be repaired optionally.

a. Replacement / Exchange:

Requirements:

 The assembly has not sustained any mechanical damage, e.g.


breakage or burnt areas and can be refurbished.
 The assembly does not show any attempts at repairs by third parties.
 Electronic assemblies are properly wrapped in ESD film when returned.
 The assembly or spare part is not older than 5 years.
 The defective assemblies must be returned to Gebrüder Martin
immediately after exchange.
Billing of the replacement / exchange assemblies is done via flat rate amounts.

b. Repairs:

Requirements:

 The assembly has not sustained any mechanical damage, e.g.


breakage or burnt areas and can be refurbished.
 The assembly does not show any attempts at repairs by third parties.
 Electronic assemblies are properly wrapped in ESD film when returned.
 The assembly or spare part is not older than 10 years.
 We do not assume any warranty for repaired electronic assemblies.
Billing of the repairs is made according to the actual costs

c. Replacement / exchange of mirror joint arms MCO laser:

Depending on the reconditioning effort of the returned mirror joint arm, this
results in the following attached rep. exchange variants:

Checking and repackaging
 95-532-01-20 Rep. exchange MCO - SGA
Re-adjustment/re-calibration in case of insufficient beam
position (no external damage and no defective parts)
 95-532-02-20 Rep. exchange MCO - SGA
Small repairs re-adjustment/re-calibration in case of
insufficient beam position and / or high losses (with
replacement of worn parts).
 95-532-03-20 Rep. exchange MCO - SGA
Major repairs and re-adjustment
Major damage, transport damage
or grossly improper handling.

d. Replacement / exchange of MCO laser tubes:

Depending on the reconditioning effort and the age of the returned tube, this
results in the following attached rep. exchange variants:

 95-520-00-40 Rep. exchange laser tube in third year


 95-520-00-39 Rep. exchange laser tube in fourth year
 95-520-00-31 Rep. exchange laser tube in fifth year
 95-520-00-28 Rep. exchange laser tube in sixth year
Laser tubes as from the 7th year can no longer be reconditioned.
The exchange price can only be granted if the defective tube
has been returned immediately!

e. Service Kits:

KLS Martin offers service kits for some products. These pre-assembled handy
cases contain all the spare parts necessary for repairs and can be purchased at a
special price:
