The Department of Justice has obtained approval and blessing from


the President of the United States of America to begin the extradition
process for three foreign nationals who have been accused or
convicted of committing a crime in United States jurisdiction. The
three people are:

1. Abba Alhaji Kyari - Nigerian National - Accused involved in


the Hushpuppi fraud.
2. Julian Paul Assange - Australian citizen located in the United
Kingdom - Accused of espionage, conspiracy to commit
espionage, theft or conversion of property belonging to the
United States government, violation of the Computer Fraud and
Abuse Act, and general conspiracy.
3. Gary McKinnon - British Citizen - Accused of hacking into 97
United States military and NASA computers over a 13-month
period between February 2001 and March 2002.

The Department of Justice will work closely with the Department of


State to carry out this process. Formal submissions for extradition to
the relevant countries will be carried out immediately after
coordinating with the Department of State.
