WORK STRESS

Hello, active listeners, we are here with another informative episode on mental health
awareness.
Psychiatrists classify stress into 3 categories; No stress, Optimum stress, and Bad stress. No
stress involves boredom due to the absence of work, whereas optimum stress is good
stress, when one gets involved in work, the need to perform well, etc. Bad stress involves
fatigue, burnout, physical numbness, lack of initiative, etc.
Stress which continues for a long period of time comes under chronic stress, which involves
physical and mental stress. This occurs due to lack of proper sleep, alcohol intake, increase
social media usage, etc.
A person can feel dreaded due to lack of sleep, disinterest in work, need for a small break
from work, etc. A workplace can also cause one to feel dreaded due to work’s nature, boss,
co-workers, failure in assignments, etc. In these circumstances, one should keep in mind
that any new thing begun will face at least 2-3 failures before it succeeds.
Peer groups or co-workers cannot cause stress until one allows it to overpower their
self-confidence. A person can deal with a toxic workplace if he finds out the root cause of it
and solves it if it is under his control.
A dual-toxic environment is not a huge issue as the home’s toxicity is directly under control.
A person can try to be adaptable, and anti-fragile and practice regular exercise to overcome
home toxicity.
The boss or manager does not realize that they are creating stress until they are
communicated with the same. There are a few tips for companies for good mental health
employees -
1. Always keep a 2-way communication.
2. Have fixed break time with group interaction and fixed individual breaks.
3. Mental health should be de-stigmatized and should come under facilitation via bills.
4. Workshops and interaction sessions.
5. Impanel professionals for mental health.
The series will be continued with more facts.
